A Stabbing Disappointment
So I've made another fic based on a prompt:

Prompt-
Write for the Timeline: This means you have ease on the prompts write this for the EMPTY SPACES on the Prompts(just make sure it makes sense in the long term), *but it has to be about the following subjects:
-Quidditch Practice.
-A dinner consisting of mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and chicken.
-Class with McGonagall.
-Rumors about Harry, Hermione, Ron, Twins or Draco.
-Forbidden Forest Detention.
-Nap, either by the lake or by your common room door.
*And it needs to include one of the following items, bonus points for more than one, just bold them for me:
-A rotten apple.
-A silver plated letter opener with an odd engraving.
-Empty potion bottles.
-Random cat furs on your uniform.
-Nargles.
-Drool.
-A wand breaking.
*And include one of the following phrases:
-"Great Scott! A Whale!!"
-"Draco's just jealous he doesn't have a pink scrunchy like Pansy."
-"That didn't taste how I expected."
-"I can barely see with that in my eye."
-"RON! WHAT THE HELL!"
-"You stabbed me! You really stabbed me! Why did you stab me?!"
-"I sort of fancy Filch, right? Ace."
Points: 15-150.

I've used more than one thing in there, so I bolded it in the story.

Revenge is a well-brewed potion
Wow. I wrote a FanFic. That's right. And it doesn't involve pron. It's mostly for a community.

Our challenge was to do the following:

Write for the Timeline: This means you have ease on the prompts write this for the EMPTY SPACES on the Prompts(just make sure it makes sense in the long term), *but it has to be about (one of) the following subjects:

And I figured, a little Halloween prank should be good.

Consider this my official reaction of Deathly Hallows, since there are so many things wrong with the conclusion of the Harry Potter series, this will be focused on the thing that angers me most.

An honourable death )

election 2008 continued
And the cons just became pros. Perhaps Obama doesn't say he's pro gay marraige, but he certainly has a lot more to say in favor of LGBT issues than Kerry did. Here are the things he's hoping to do.

Expand Hate Crimes Statutes: In 2004, crimes against gays constituted the third-highest category of hate crime reported and made up more than 15 percent of such crimes. Barack Obama cosponsored legislation that would expand federal jurisdiction to reach violent hate crimes perpetrated because of race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation or physical disability. As a state senator, Obama passed tough legislation that made hate crimes and conspiracy to commit them against the law.

Fight Workplace Discrimination: Barack Obama believes the Employment Non-Discrimination Act should be expanded to include sexual orientation. While an increasing number of employers have extended benefits to their employees’ domestic partners, discrimination based on sexual orientation in the workplace occurs with no federal legal remedy. Obama also sponsored and passed legislation in the Illinois State Senate that would ban employment discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.

Promote Gay and Lesbian Rights: Barack Obama supported legislation in the Illinois State Senate to prevent discrimination based on sexual orientation in housing and public accommodations.

Support Full Civil Unions: Barack Obama supports civil unions that give gay couples full rights, including the right to assist their loved ones in times of emergency, the right to equal health insurance and other employment benefits currently extended to traditional married couples, and the same property rights as anyone else.

Oppose a Constitutional Ban on Gay Marriage: Barack Obama voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment in 2006 which would have defined marriage as between a man and a woman and prevented judicial extension of marriage-like rights to same-sex or other unmarried couples. “We are better than this. And we certainly owe the American people more than this. I know that this amendment will fail, and when it does, I hope we can start discussing issues and offering proposals that will actually improve the lives of most Americans.” (Barack Obama on the Senate floor regarding the Federal Marriage Amendment, June 5, 2006)

Repeal Don’t Ask-Don’t Tell: Barack Obama agrees with former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff John Shalikashvili and other military experts that we need to repeal the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy in consultation with military commanders. The key test for military service should be patriotism, a sense of duty, and a willingness to serve. Discrimination should be prohibited. The U.S. government has spent millions of dollars replacing troops kicked out of the military because of their sexual orientation. Additionally, more than 300 language experts have been fired under this policy, including more than 50 who are fluent in Arabic. Obama will work with military leaders to repeal the current policy and ensure it helps accomplish our national defense goals.

Expand Adoption Rights: Barack Obama believes that there are too many children who need loving parents and that gay people should have the same adoption rights as heterosexuals.

Promote AIDS Prevention: Barack Obama believes that we cannot ignore that abstinence and fidelity may too often be the ideal and not the reality. Obama went to a large evangelical conference in 2006 to promote greater investment in the global AIDS battle. At this conservative Christian event, Obama pushed for a balanced approach to fighting the disease that includes condom distribution. In late 2006, Barack Obama worked to reauthorize the Ryan White CARE Act, which is one of the largest sources of federal funds for primary health care and support services for patients with HIV/AIDS. The bill was named after Ryan White, an Indiana teenager whose courageous struggle with HIV/AIDS helped educate the nation.

Empower Women to Prevent HIV/AIDS: In the United States, the percentage of women diagnosed with AIDS has quadrupled over the last 20 years. Today, women account for more than one quarter of all new HIV/AIDS diagnoses. Barack Obama introduced the Microbicide Development Act, which will accelerate the development of products that empower women in the battle against AIDS. Microbicides are a class of products currently under development that women apply topically to prevent transmission of HIV and other infections.

Fight AIDS Worldwide: There are 40 million people across the planet infected with HIV/AIDS. Every day, AIDS kills 8,000 and HIV infects 6,000 more people. The disease is set to become the third-leading cause of death worldwide in the coming years. Barack Obama has been a global leader in the fight against AIDS. He traveled to Kenya and took a public HIV test to encourage testing and reduce the stigma of the disease.

Okay. Now my qualms are, I don't really like the idea of gay people having a separate Civil Union, whether it's the same as marriage or not. Because, as we've already established (Plessy v. Ferguson), separate but equal is inherently unequal. But I think that asking for and supporting full Civil Unions is WAY WAY WAY better than what Kerry did. He also wants to get rid of Don't Ask, Don't Tell because, though it may protect LGBT people in some instances it hurts them in others, and I really, really, really support that. He also openly supports gay adoption!! <3 This is definitely A LOT more than I've seen Kerry really talk about. Now, just because he says it doesn't mean he'll do it. I mean, look at Clinton. Said he'd stand by the gay people and he signed the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

SO yeah. More reasons to vote for Obama. If my mind wasn't already made up, it would be now. :D:D

Election 2008
So I truthfully haven't liked Clinton much and my only reason in the past has been pretty superficial and now that I've gotten down to it, I've found more reasons not to like her, and to like Obama more.

Pro-Obama

1. Hillary voted for the war in Iraq. Obama has been against the war and outspoken about it since the beginning.
2. Hillary voted for the Patriot Act Re-Authorization in 2006. Obama originally voted against it and then later for re-authorization and has this to say on the subject: "Let me be clear: this compromise is not as good as the Senate version of the bill, nor is it as good as the SAFE Act that I have cosponsored. I suspect the vast majority of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle feel the same way. But, it's still better than what the House originally proposed. This compromise does modestly improve the PATRIOT Act by strengthening civil liberties protections without sacrificing the tools that law enforcement needs to keep us safe."
2. Obama openly supports federally funded research. Hillary doesn't oppose it, but it doesn't say she supports it fully either.
3. Hilary is pro-choice but Obama supported the interests of Planned Parenthood 100 percent in 2006 and Pro-Choice America 100 percent in 2005.
4. Hilary advocates the death penalty. Obama strongly opposes the death penalty (also, as a state senator, Obama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases).
5. Hilary is against the legalization of marijuana. Obama doesn't have an opinion, but has admitted to doing illegal drugs in his book.
6. Obama voted to increase minimum wage. It just says that Hilary supports it.
7. Obama heavily supports and advocates health care for all Americans as part of his platform. He says, "Too many hard-working Americans cannot afford their medical bills, and health-related issues are the number one cause for personal bankruptcy. Promoting affordable, accessible, and high-quality health care is a priority for Senator Obama". Hilary isn't as outspoken about health care.
8. Obama is more outspoken about lowering the cost of prescription drugs.
9. Hillary has repeatedly refused to provide responses to citizens on issues through the 2006 National Political Awareness Test when asked to do so by key national leaders of both major parties including: John McCain (R), Geraldine Ferraro (D), Bill Frenzel (R), and Richard Kimball, former vote smart president. Obama has completed that test.

Middle of the Venn Diagram

Hilary and and Obama support the interests of the American Immigration Lawyers Association 88 percept in 2006.

Hilary and Obama oppose vouchers.

Not so Barak

1. He opposes gay marriage but... in all honesty it's understandable politically that he says he does. Kerry did. You'll never win an election in this country openly supporting gay marriage. Obama takes the step I feel Kerry didn't do by supporting civil unions and gay equality.

Conclusion:

So the big ones for me are Hilary's support for the war in the past and the death penalty. Now I have more to say when people wonder why I don't like her as much as Obama, woman or not. If we're going to have a woman in office, it should be better.
